What You'll Do:

  • Assist in coordinating preventative health programs/services for all children at our partner sites
  • Conduct routine in-person or virtual site visits with assigned partner sites to ensure that Health & Safety components/goals are achieved (with a minimum of 1-2 in-person visits per month once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted)
  • Complete formal site monitoring reports and reports of any noncompliance to submit to immediate supervisor (Director of Health & Safety) as required and requested.
  • Support partner sites' staff with the submission and monitoring of all EPSDT data via COPA (electronic database/monitoring system): physicals, dental exams, immunizations, vision/hearing screens, etc.
  • Collaborate with partner site staff in referring parents and families to community linkages/services to help access quality health care and other resources.
  • Review, replenish, and monitor centers' first aid kits.
  • Execute routine audits against the Health and Safety checklists of all centers. Assist in creating and maintaining ongoing systems to ensure compliance.
  • Document all health and medical inquiries, including letters and phone calls from all pertinent sources, in the appropriate client file (in COPA).
  • Ensure all partner sites have appropriate posters/certifications displayed (such as evacuation plans and emergency postings) in their designated areas per the requirements of each center.
  • Assist with collection of referral packets and care plans for children with health concerns, mental health/developmental concerns, or suspected special needs. Follow up with families directly to ensure child has all necessary medical care and follow up in place.
  • Assist with onboarding new partner sites as they may arise.
  • Attend all scheduled workshops, trainings, staff meetings, and all other work-related events as needed.
  • Assist in offering Health & Safety trainings (including bus evacuations) to partner site staff

  • Qualifications:

    • Associate's degree in Health Education or Social Services is required. Other degrees may be considered based on prior job experience.
    • Minimum of 2 years social service experience
    *2 years of experience working in Early Head Start/Head Start programs is highly desired.

    • Must possess reliable transportation/personal vehicle to make all applicable site visits as needed; proof of valid driver's license and vehicle insurance is required. Must be willing to work outdoors for very brief periods of time.
    • Must maintain CPR/First Aid Certification and other mandatory trainings as applicable.
    • Ability to demonstrate the experiences, beliefs, attitude, and awareness that indicate cultural sensitivity to the client population served.
    • Ability to partner with clients/families directly as well as partner sites to help them mobilize resources.
    • Ability to coordinate effectively with other team members, other resources, and outside partnerships/services in addressing client needs.
