Associate Actuarial Consultant
We are seeking an Associate Actuarial Consultant to join the Retirement practice for the Midwest region. The candidate may be based out of our Chicago, Detroit, or Cleveland office.
The Opportunity: We offer a position that involves a diverse range of responsibilities that include final reviewing, managing projects, mentoring/guiding others, providing technical support on complex client projects and related actuarial issues.
The Role: Individual is accountable for providing a level of review and consulting expertise and actuarial services (valuations and reports, special projects and other relevant consulting projects) to assigned clients.
The role requires:
26bull; a competent understanding of actuarial concepts, methods and applications
26bull; the ability to apply this knowledge in a variety of problem-solving situations
26bull; a big picture perspective to understanding, defining and responding to client needs and
26bull; the ability to develop and gain support for recommendations in response to complex issues.
Key accountabilities include:
26bull; Providing a level of review to valuation reports and actuarial projects to ensure high quality client deliverables
26bull; Providing technical guidance to and mentoring junior colleagues and serving as a technical resource
26bull; Presenting at client meetings
26bull; Participating on special projects designed to address emerging and/or unique retirement issues posed by client organizations.
26bull; A minimum of four actuarial exams passed with active progression to credentialed status required (ASA preferred)
26bull; minimum of six years of pension actuarial experience to include working in an employee benefits consulting environment
26bull; strong client service skills and technical expertise
26bull; excellent communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with diverse and sophisticated audiences
26bull; experience with Multiemployer or Public Sector defined benefit plans beneficial
